Next Level Digital LLC is backed by the 21 years of experience by Chuck Westover, who has been organizing and running campaigns – electoral, advocacy and otherwise – at both the grassroots door-to-door level and in the digital world as well.
Chuck helped governments, trade associations, non-profits, labor unions, foundations and progressive political campaigns and advocacy organizations leverage world’s largest professional platform to reach campaign goals.
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
Chuck served nine years at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the largest union in the AFL-CIO.
With an email list approaching one million at that time and one of the largest Facebook presences of any union, AFSCME was a leader (and still are!) from 2006 to 2015 in bringing the labor movement online in order to promote grassroots activism in electoral campaigns, the halls of Congress, and state capitals across nation.
Grassroots
Chuck drove online communications for some of labor’s most high-profile fights, including the 2013 Michigan “Right-to-Work” battle, the 2011 and 2012 Wisconsin recall elections, and the 2011 Issue 2 victory in Ohio.
Digital Training
Chuck traveled the country to train AFSCME’s affiliates and locals on how to harness power of mass email, text messaging, social media and own websites to grow and promote the labor movement and influence public policy at all levels of government.
Advocacy
Chuck worked for a number of politicians, campaigns and organizations, including former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean, and the labor coalitions supporting Hilary Clinton’s 2008 Presidential campaign and both of Barack Obama’s Presidential campaigns.
